PENTHOUSE ONLINE REMOTE SIGNUP INSTRUCTIONS System Requirements: o PC compatible 286 or higher. o DOS 3.1 or later. o 580K conventional memory must be available. o Hard Disk with at least 2MB free disk space. o VGA or higher resolution display monitor. o A modem (14,400 baud and 9600 baud is recommended) 2400 baud is supported. This sign-on procedure is used for first time callers to complete a subscriber application only. A credit card is required. We accept VISA and Mastercard only. If you do not have a credit card to use, please call customer service at 1-800-547-4727 for alternate ways to enroll to the service. Rates are as follows: o Sign-Up fee: $9.95 o Basic Monthly Service Charge: $5.95/month o Usage Charges: $.20/min. $.30/min. when downloading. ***************************************************************** Set-Up Instructions for Enrollment: You will be asked a series of questions to configure the set-up program for your particular modem and dialing requirements. Those questions are as follows: 1). TO BEGIN THE ENROLLMENT PROGRAM. Press the key from the previous menu to start the enrollment process. 2). COM PORT. The program will search for your communications port that is assigned to your modem. Confirm the Com Port by typing in the number when prompted. Be sure not to assign the Com Port you have designated for your mouse. NOTE: Your mouse and modem can not be on odd or even number Com Ports. For example, if your modem is on Com Port 1, your mouse must be on Com Port 2 or Com Port 4. 3). MODEM INITIALIZATION. The program will set your modem at the factory default setting of AT&F, then test to make sure that modem string will work for your modem. If you use a specific modem initialization string for your modem, enter that string when asked. If you need assistance building a modem string please call Customer Service at 1-800-547-4727. 4). PHONE NUMBER. You will be dialing an 800# to enroll. The program will ask you if you need to enter a "1" before the 800#. Simply respond "Yes" or "No. Some phone systems require you to dial a "9" (or calling code) to get an outside line. Penthouse Online will automatically place two commas after your code to allow for a longer delay. 5). TO CONNECT. When the Penthouse Online Access screen appears, press "C" to connect. NOTE: DO NOT ENTER THE SET-UP AREA, you have already given the set-up appropriate instructions from your previous entries. The network will give you a DIALING message, a CONNECTED message, a CHECKING USER ID/PASSWORD message and then a YOU ARE LOGGED ON message. After a few second the first sign-up screen will appear. 6). ON-LINE SUBSCRIPTION INFORMATION. At this screen, simply complete each field. 7). ENTRY OF PAYMENT INFORMATION. You are given the option to use your VISA or Mastercard for payment on your sign-up fee, basic monthly service charges and usage fees. The credit card number and expiration date must be typed in correctly so we can validate your credit card. The specified account will be electronically debited each month. The debit generally occurs on the 10th of each month. You are responsible for any charges that are incurred, but are free to call customer service with any questions. Your invoice is available on- line under ACCOUNT INFORMATION. There you may find a CURRENT TIME METER and your PREVIOUS INVOICE. We do not send invoices via traditional mail. 8). USER I.D. This number is randomly assigned to you. Your user I.D. is permanent and can not be changed. Write this number down for future reference. 9). PASSWORD. Passwords are used to provide security for each user. We assign the first password, but after you log-on for the first time you may change your password as often as you wish. From the General Directory you must follow the path: Hot Stuff/Account Information/Personal Data. The password can be no more than 8 characters in length. Do not use any characters other than alphanumeric, with no spaces. You must wait 24-hours to access the service using your new password. BE SURE TO REMEMBER YOUR PASSWORD. 10). TO QUIT ENROLLMENT PROGRAM. After you assigned a User I.D. and Password you will be asked to exit the enrollment program by typing "Q" (for Quit) at the Penthouse Online Access screen. YOU MUST QUIT THE PHSIGNUP PROGRAM FOR THE SYSTEM TO UPDATE YOUR ACCESS SOFTWARE WITH YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION TO LOG ON TO THE PENTHOUSE ONLINE SERVICE. Set-Up to Access Penthouse Online: 1). Type PHO at the C:>PHO prompt. You will be asked the same series of questions similar to the enrollment program for: COM PORT designation, MODEM INITIALIZATION, and PHONE NUMBER special requirements, that were asked in the enrollment program. Your Terminal Set-Up screen will be configured based on the modem parameters and personal information assigned during the enrollment process. The Terminal Set-Up screen will be personalized with the name that you entered in the Subscriber Information section during enrollment (e.g.; Susie Smith) 2). PASSWORD ENTRY. You will be prompted to enter your password into the set-up screen. This is optional. Some users choose not to enter their password, to prevent others from having access to their account. If you do not have your password in the set-up screen, you will be prompted to enter your password each time you log-on to the service. 3). BAUD RATE. The program will search for the fastest available speed for your modem. Confirm the search by typing the appropriate speed for your modem. For example, type 4 for 9600 bps. 4). PHONE BOOK. Penthouse Online gives you access to the service via a local number. Use this section to select your access number based on area code and baud rate of your modem. When prompted, type in the area code of your calling area. Highlight the access number you wish to use. This number will be placed in your set-up. 4). THE PENTHOUSE ONLINE ACCESS SCREEN. At the Penthouse Online Access Screen press "C" to connect. If all of your parameters for your modem are set correctly you will be logged-on to the service after it checks your User I.D. and Password. YOU MUST WAIT 24 HOURS AFTER ENROLLING BEFORE YOU ARE ALLOWED ACCESS TO THE PROGRAM.
